In In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I talk about something I think a lot of people are struggling with right now: feeling mentally overwhelmed by everything happening in the world.
From politics to nonstop social media content to useless information we were never meant to consume 24/7, it can start to feel like your brain never truly gets a break. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how easy it is to slow down too much when you’re overloaded — and how dangerous that can become if you lose your momentum completely. That’s why I believe slowing down is a double-edged sword. Sometimes you need to slow down so you can reflect, reset, and understand what’s really going on in your life. But at the same time, if you stay stuck in that state too long, you can lose focus, discipline, and direction.
In this episode, I give my perspective on how to balance both sides and share three action steps you can use to speed back up, regain your momentum, and get back to work:
- Stop trying to learn more and just do more!
- Record your progress daily
- Fix more problems than you create in the world
I also talk about my own experiences with feeling overwhelmed, trying to stay disciplined in a distracted world, and why simplifying your focus can completely change your mindset and productivity. If you’ve been feeling mentally drained, distracted, or stuck in your own head lately, this episode is for you. Slow down when you need to… but don’t stay there forever.
